The Philippine economic structure is gradually taking a turn in the past two years or so. It is documented how majority of government efforts were focused on infrastructure developments. To quote Mara K. Warwick in her delivery,
"The Philippines is on an exciting path that gives infrastructure investment the necessary priority. The “Build, Build, Build” program creates an opportunity for the country to not only build infrastructure assets, but to also create a strong and well-capacitated system for infrastructure delivery, including at the local level, that can provide the basis for the Philippines infrastructure program long into the future." ..., it places emphasis on improving logistics within the country. In line with such development, opportunities for feasible businesses come along. As a business and marketing consultant, I have a compelling urge to share my insights on potential business ventures that would be expected to be booming in a few years time.
Herewith are a few general business categories which I deem and forecast to have high demands in a few years. The forecast demand for these businesses allows them to have high success ratings, particularly if ventured into the localities within the municipalities in Calabarzon, municipalities within close proximity to Subic, and proximal municipalities in Cebu transport junctions.
- Parking spaces - This is on top of the list because it has the least amount of risk. The transition of traffic regulations, rules, and sanctions that is currently trending clearly shows the need for more car parking spaces. Additionally, with the "No Garage, No Car Policy" being revived for implementation in Manila, chances are high that the same policy would be implemented in other regions. Thus, having rental parking spaces ready when the policy gets implemented at large poses an appealing amount of demand.
- Residential rental spaces - I'm not talking about large scale condo units or top tier apartments for rent. These refer to small boarding and lodging spaces for working class people. In the event of the completion of infrastructure development, the rise of businesses which would require manpower always follow. Naturally, the people who would be working for the upcoming businesses would require at least basic boarding and lodging.
- Affordable food service - This goes hand-in-hand with the occupants of residential rental spaces. And since working class people would mainly populate the said spaces, offering the convenience of affordable "lutong-bahay" meals would be a definitive option for a business venture. For the location, it would always be best to put it up across or along rental housing.
These three type of businesses indeed are indeed among the most likely to succeed businesses in the coming years. However, such still require appropriate implementation and management.
